$$ Rail Traffic Rebounds

Total N. American rail traffic rebounded last week from 665k to 678k.  Mexico and Canada were essentially unchanged so the gains came from US rails. Metals and grains had the largest % increases in volume while other area were either flat or up slightly.

What does it mean? We are not seeing a slowdown in any area. YOY volumes remain ~50k railcars above last years levels on a weekly basis heading into the Holiday season.

Again, beginning next week expect extreme volatility in results and for the 4 week averages to decline going into the end of the year.
