“Davidson” submits:
Light Weight Vehicle Sales for Aug reported at 16.069Mil SAAR(Seasonally Adjusted Annual Rate). This is above market expectations that expect weaker not stronger vehicle sales as 2025 progresses. The vehicle forecast is virtually flat for the next 3yrs and closer to 15Mill SAAR than 16Mil SAAR.
Thus far, vehicle sales are more in line with Cooper-Standard’s( CPS) CEO Edwards comments of manufacturers Indicating a higher rate of production/delivery to meet demand which remains stronger than is forecast by analysts. Light weight trucks, i.e., pickup trucks and etc. make up the majority of sales.
Under-estimates by analysts have always proven to boost share prices once the numbers have been reported. I expect similar behavior in upcoming reports.
